Fall Sermon Series

Hi, friends

We’re well into our fall series on the Holy Spirit.  We’ve looked at how the Holy Spirit operated through different individuals in the Old Testament – only rarely, and only for a specific task.  The Holy Spirit equipped Bezalel with many skills for building the tabernacle, its furnishings, the priestly garments and the ark of the covenant. The Spirit came upon several of the judges, including Gideon, and later upon King Saul, giving them the courage and authority to lead their people to victory against their enemies.

Then we looked at the Spirit in the writings of the prophets, who saw the future when the Spirit would be given to all, would change people’s hearts and give us the desire to obey God’s commands.  The radical new thing that is represented by these prophetic visions has been realized since the Day of Pentecost — but do we realize it?  Are we fully entering in to the fulfillment of these ancient promises that so revolutionized the world and still have such great impact in many nations today?

That’s what we will explore as we continue through this series which looks at the “new thing” that Jesus promised, the fruit and gifts and power of the Spirit, the command to be filled with the Spirit and more, in the weeks ahead.

You’re welcome to join us . . . or check out the sermons online (usually posted the same day)
